Open call for STEM teachers to become inGenious Teacher Coordinators

inGenious is the European Coordinating Body in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. It is a joint initiative launched by European Schoolnet (EUN) and the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) aiming to reinforce young European's interest in science education and careers and thus address anticipated future skills gaps within the European Union.

Through a strategic partnership between major industries and Ministries of Education, inGenious has the objective of increasing the links between science education and careers, by involving up to 1,000 classrooms throughout Europe.

Teachers play an important role as they stand in the foreground of the education scene through their in-class experience. inGenious is thus looking for a Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Maths teachers from each of the following 16 countries:

New recruits will join the inGenious project as a Teacher Coordinator for the coming school year: 2013-2014.

Main tasks

ECB Teacher Coordinators will be asked to coordinate, monitor and report on the work carried out by 10 schools in their country. Each of these schools will have to implement at least 3 initiatives from a selection of good practices in STEM education, resulting from school-industry collaboration. By testing these practices, teachers will provide valuable feedback to their peers, to understand how they can be used in class, and to the industry partners involved in producing the materials.
