Sensor Adventure
 

Each mission involves a series of three science experiments which are designed to enhance students’ understanding of various science principles. These experiments are conducted in such a way as to promote investigative thinking, and are based on the correct selection of a number of sensor technologies. 

These are presented in various real-world scenarios.Students are encouraged to experiment using various sensors and are required to select the best sensor for the task in hand.

The following virtual sensors are used in the Adventure:

  • • Temperature
  • • Soil moisture
  • • Infra-red light thermometer
  • • Light
  • • Wind

All tools are available online but can also be downloaded. Adobe Air and the latest Flash plug-in are essential.

A computer meeting the following requirements is also recommended:

  • • Intel® Pentium II 233MHz Processor
  • • 64 MB RAM
  • • A sound card
  • • An internet connection
  • • Your computer must be running Windows 98 or later
  • • Your browser must be Firefox or Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher
